Description:

The Leavitt School of Business Department of Marketing, Entrepreneurship, Sales, and Analytics (MESA) is seeking student ambassadors for the Professional Sales program. A Professional Sales Ambassador is a unique position offered on campus and provides several opportunities for students to explore their leadership and service potential through an accelerated professional development program. Ambassadors serve in a variety of capacities and participate in sales activities unique to a college setting.

This internship is part of the Spring 2025 Professional Internship Program. To be eligible for the program you must:

  • Be enrolled as an SUU student during the course of the internship.
  • Have and maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Be willing to work 10 to 20 hours per week.
  • Provide thoughtful responses in your application.

These duties and services include, but are not limited to:

  • Representing the college in outreach capacities
  • Meeting and greeting campus visitor
  • Participating in Professional Sales events and activities
  • Assisting and working with Professional Sales partners in their sales initiatives
  • Assisting prospective students interested in Professional Sales
  • Attending mandatory student leadership and training sessions

Ambassadors must maintain a caring, service-oriented attitude with respect to the college and program objectives. This attitude is represented in a willingness to attend all program training sessions and serve in capacities deemed appropriate by the program Director. Continued academic progress toward each student’s goal is central to the philosophy of the Student Ambassador program. Students are encouraged to apply only if they believe the program and service commitment will enhance their educational goals without hindering academic progress.

Priority hiring will be given to those actively involved in the Professional Sales Program.

Qualifications:

To be eligible for the Student Ambassador program, students must:

  • Maintain a GPA of 3.2
  • Be willing to hold the position for at least two consecutive semesters - a full academic year
  • Must be enrolled in or have completed the Foundations of Selling class
  • Must be a student in good standing and not on Academic, Progress, or Disciplinary Probation
  • Must be able to attend all training and regular meetings
  • Be familiar with Excel, Word, and Google Suite
  • Be comfortable making and maintaining phone conversations

As a representative of Professional Sales, Ambassadors are expected to conduct themselves as campus leaders, exhibiting the behavior expected of a college representative. Students should exhibit a service-oriented attitude, provide excellent customer service, have a strong work ethic, the ability to work independently, and a desire to pursue a sales related career. Additionally, personal grooming, attitude, habits, and speaking ability should be of the highest caliber.

Students will need to exhibit the following:

  • Enthusiasm and positive representation of SUU and Professional Sales
  • Knowledge of SUU and the Professional Sales Program
  • Ability to work with diverse groups
  • Organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent communication skills in one-on-one and group settings
  • Dependability, outgoing personality, and enthusiasm
  • Possess the ability to listen, problem-solve, and react quickly
  • Perform sales duties as learned in the program and through experience
